On Sunday, business magnate Gautam Adani took significant steps toward enhancing healthcare services in Bihar by initiating the construction of two eye care centers. These facilities, set to be part of the Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital, aim to perform up to 3.3 lakh surgeries annually and train 1,000 healthcare professionals.

Backed by the Adani Foundation, headed by Priti Adani, the project involves a pledge of Rs 150 crore for the two centers. Gautam Adani emphasized a personal commitment of Rs 500 crore to the Akhand Jyoti Foundation, with an aim to extend vision care services beyond Bihar to underserved regions across India.

In addition to eye care, the Adani Foundation plans to establish a 200-bed hospital near the upcoming ultra-supercritical power plant in Bhagalpur, Bihar.
