Damodar Rajanarasimha, Telangana's health authority, reassured the public about Ebola preparedness, stating there's no reason for concern as the government has robust measures in place.
After conferring with officials, he confirmed no Ebola cases or symptomatic individuals have been identified in the state. Officials highlighted that 58 travelers from affected areas have arrived in Hyderabad, but none show symptoms. These individuals are observing a 21-day home isolation.
Enhanced safety measures, including screening at Hyderabad's RGI airport and dedicated medical teams, have been established. The city has also set up a special isolation ward and appointed a nodal officer for monitoring. Suspected cases will be scrutinized by the National Institute of Virology in Pune.
The Centre has amplified safety protocols following the World Health Organization's public health emergency status on Ebola. Coordination among health departments and round-the-clock medical readiness at the airport remain pivotal in the state's ongoing preventive efforts.
