Delhi Allocates Rs 16,696 Crore for Healthcare in 2022-23

The Delhi government allocated Rs 16,696 crore to healthcare during the 2022-23 period, making up 29.6% of the city's overall government spending, as revealed by a recent National Health Accounts report from the Union Health Ministry.

In terms of economic impact, the city's healthcare expenditure accounted for 1.7% of its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), which was estimated at Rs 9,99,749 crore for the year. The per capita government health expenditure reached Rs 7,950. This spending encompasses schemes directed by various government layers, including funds managed by quasi-government organisations and routed through donor contributions.
