Odisha Takes Steps to Combat Menstrual Stigma and Enhance Women's Healthcare

The Odisha Government is striving to break the stigma surrounding menstrual health while enhancing care facilities for women. This commitment was highlighted by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on World Menstrual Hygiene Day. He underscored that access to menstrual hygiene connects to broader issues of equality, education, and empowerment.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, managing the Women and Child Development portfolio, urged public engagement in promoting awareness and dignity for all girls and women. Simultaneously, AIIMS Bhubaneswar facilitated programs emphasizing menstrual health's importance, urging women to maintain hygiene to prevent infections. Moreover, the Odisha Menstrual Health & Hygiene Alliance organized events to foster safe, stigma-free environments, showcasing efforts toward policy dialogue and strengthening system support for menstrual health as a basic right.
