Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon official and senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, has advocated for the deployment of US forces into Iran to dismantle its nuclear program. Rubin highlighted the potential for nuclear material transfer to Pakistan post-conflict but urged against compensating Pakistan for cooperation or accepting Iranian nuclear materials.

In an interview with ANI, Rubin described Iran and Pakistan as 'competitors' despite occasional cooperation. His comments surface during the ongoing weeklong conflict between Israel and Iran, while former President Donald Trump maintains a firm stance against an Iranian nuclear arsenal. Rubin argues that US labeling of Pakistan as a terrorism-fighting ally is mere 'diplomatic rhetoric.'

Further addressing Trump's remarks and CENTCOM's position on Pakistan, Rubin stated the US-Pakistan alliance hinges on strategic interests rather than genuine collaboration. He noted President Trump's recent outreach to Pakistan amid Israel-Iran tensions, emphasizing Iran's nuclear disarmament aligns with Pakistani interests. However, Rubin cautioned against financially incentivizing Pakistan, doubting the effectiveness of such foreign policy strategies.
