In a significant breakthrough, the Israel Defence Forces' 188th Armored Brigade and Yahalom Combat Engineers Special Forces Unit have dismantled a substantial Hamas terror tunnel in the Khan Yunis area of the Gaza Strip.
The operation, completed in recent weeks, discovered the tunnel extending two kilometers in length and reaching a depth of about 20 meters. The subterranean passage, found partly beneath a building that once served as the 'Ma'an' school, was utilized by Hamas for military operations and contributed to their combat strategies.
This successful operation, executed with the cooperation of the Israel Air Force, led to the destruction of hundreds of military infrastructures, eradication of numerous terrorists, and discovery of weapons, marking a notable achievement for the IDF in its ongoing security efforts in the region.
