Etihad Airways made history in July 2025 by taking delivery of five new aircraft, marking its busiest month for fleet expansion in the airline's 22-year history. This significant milestone included the inaugural delivery of an A321LR, two Boeing 787 Dreamliners, an Airbus A350-1000, and an Airbus A320ceo.
The recent acquisitions showcase both Etihad's commitment to rapid growth and its strategic plan to carry 38 million passengers annually by 2030. These new aircraft will expand Etihad's capacity across its global network. CEO Antonoaldo Neves highlighted the achievement as the most intensive delivery programme to date, boosting the airline's growth trajectory and service offerings.
The innovative aircraft additions reflect Etihad's approach to fleet modernization and network-specific expansion. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner will bolster long-haul flights to key destinations, while the A350-1000 increases capacity on high-demand routes. Notably, the A321LR introduces luxury narrowbody features, including First Suites, enhancing the in-flight experience on medium and short-haul routes.
With these deliveries, Etihad's fleet now totals 106 aircraft, maintaining one of the youngest global fleets with an average age of 8.7 years. This expansion coincides with the airline's network growth plans, adding 27 new destinations and increasing frequencies. Future fleet growth includes 20 new aircraft annually throughout 2025 and 2026, solidifying Abu Dhabi's role as a premier aviation hub.
