Amid heightened tensions and an escalating threat landscape, Israel's National Security Council (NSC) has issued a reinforced travel warning for Israelis in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This new advisory comes on the back of intelligence suggesting increased terrorist activity from entities such as Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Global Jihad, all aimed at harming Israeli interests.
The NSC's decision follows recent events, including Operation 'Rising Lion,' which have further motivated these groups to pursue retaliatory actions. The council highlighted a surge in anti-Israeli sentiment and pro-Palestinian incitement since the onset of the 'Iron Swords' conflict, further exacerbated by Hamas's 'starvation campaign' in Gaza.
Currently, the UAE is under a Level 3 NSC travel warning, where non-essential travel is discouraged. Israelis are advised to weigh the potential risks seriously before planning any travel to the region. This cautionary stance has been long-standing but is now reiterated with greater urgency given present circumstances.
