India-Russia Working Group Aims to Bolster Industrial Ties

The 11th session of the India-Russia Working Group on Modernisation and Industrial Cooperation took place in New Delhi this Wednesday, as part of the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological, and Cultural Cooperation.
Indian Secretary for the Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, and Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Alexey Gruzdev, co-chaired the discussions. The meeting, hosted at Vanijya Bhawan, reviewed progress since the previous session and identified potential areas for strengthened bilateral ties.
Key topics included aerospace collaboration, rare earth extraction, and the modernisation of infrastructure. Both sides endorsed continued engagement in industrial sectors such as aluminium and railways, with commitments to technology transfer and capacity-building initiatives.
Delegations comprising around 80 members from governmental and industrial sectors emphasized the strategic partnership, signing off on a new Protocol to confirm agreements reached. Simultaneously, in Moscow, discussions on defense collaboration were held, reinforcing the ongoing cooperation between India and Russia.
