In a significant diplomatic engagement, Fijian Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka met with Indian President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan, following bilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. The discussions underscored the enduring ties between the two nations, enhanced by mutual aspirations.
The meeting resulted in several key agreements, notably India's commitment to establishing a hospital in Fiji and providing agricultural drones. Additionally, India will send Hindi and Sanskrit educators to bolster cultural ties and train Fijian cricketers and priests. Both nations strongly condemned the Pahalgam terrorist attack, unanimously rejecting terrorism and its double standards.
Emphasizing global cooperation, both leaders called for comprehensive UN reforms, advocating for a restructured Security Council to reflect current geopolitical dynamics.
