President Donald Trump revealed Tuesday that U.S. military forces had destroyed three vessels suspected of smuggling drugs from Venezuela. Speaking on the White House lawn before departing for London, Trump clarified, "We knocked off, actually, three boats, not two, but you saw two. And the problem is there are very few boats out in the water."
Trump issued a direct plea to Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, demanding he halt the flow of drugs and criminals into the United States. This announcement follows a recent U.S. military strike targeting a drug boat linked to the notorious Tren de Aragua cartel, killing 11 people.
On social media, Trump detailed the operation, stating it was a kinetic strike against positively identified Tren de Aragua narcoterrorists, emphasizing the cartel's involvement in serious crimes under Maduro's regime. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the strike occurred in the southern Caribbean, describing the targeted vessel's Venezuelan origins.
