A recent report by the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) highlights a staggering rise in violence across Pakistan, with more than 900 fatalities recorded over the past three months.
The report reveals a troubling escalation in militant attacks and military operations, marking a 46 percent increase from the previous quarter. As 2025 unfolds, the death toll stands at 2,414, dangerously close to last year's total of 2,546, signaling one of the deadliest years in recent history.
Provincial violence is concentrated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, accounting for the majority of incidents. Despite militants being the primary casualties, civilians have increasingly become the target, suffering the highest number of injuries. The CRSS data is a grim reminder of the deteriorating security landscape in Pakistan.
