Outrage has erupted in the Gwadar district's Kuntani area after several Baloch labourers were reportedly killed and others injured following an alleged shooting by the Pakistan Coast Guard, according to local residents and eyewitnesses.

The incident, occurring during routine work along the coastal belt, prompted widespread criticism from Baloch political parties, student groups, and rights organizations. Many have condemned the attack as indicative of ongoing state repression in Balochistan.

The alleged incident, termed the 'Kuntani massacre' by Baloch Students Organisation Azad spokesperson Sholan Baloch, has called attention to Gwadar's militarisation and the socio-economic struggles faced by the indigenous Baloch community.
