Rajnath Singh Kicks Off Two-Nation Indo-Pacific Defence Diplomacy Tour
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam, as part of a strategic tour aimed at bolstering defence ties across the Indo-Pacific. Key discussions will address military, manufacturing, and security cooperation with Vietnam and South Korea, highlighting the BrahMos missile system and bilateral defence industry collaboration.
On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh touched down in Hanoi, marking the start of his strategic two-nation tour designed to strengthen India's defence ties in the Indo-Pacific region. At the airport, Singh was welcomed by Vietnam People's Army Deputy Chief of General Staff, alongside India's Ambassador to Vietnam and the Defence Attache.
This visit follows the recent state delegation led by To Lam to India, underscoring a growing momentum in Vietnam-India defence relations. Discussions are expected to prominently feature the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile system as both nations seek to finalize a potential supply agreement.
While in Vietnam, Singh will engage with his Vietnamese counterpart, discussing key issues spanning defence cooperation, military exchanges, and regional security. Post Vietnam, Singh will head to South Korea where focus will shift towards defence manufacturing and technology collaboration in talks with Ahn Gyu-back, Korea's Defence Minister.
