Karachi's Water Woes: JI Leader Slams PPP's Governance
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan leader Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman accuses the Pakistan People's Party of mismanaging Karachi's water supply amid long-standing governance. He highlights the civic crises during Eid, criticizing the handling of public services and questioning claims of no water shortages by local officials.
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has launched a scathing critique against the Pakistan People's Party, holding the provincial government accountable for Karachi's ongoing water scarcity issues. Despite nearly two decades of governance in Sindh, these problems persist, he pointed out, as reported by ARY News.
During Eid, Naeem underscored the resilience of Karachi residents who continued their celebrations amid worsening civic conditions. He noted the Jamaat-e-Islami's efforts in organizing communal sacrifices at over 150 locations citywide, maintaining a tradition that bolsters community ties.
Naeem also criticized the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board for its ineffective use of a Rs43 billion budget, accusing it of failing to manage Eid-related waste. As water disruptions plague 70% of Karachi, residents in several neighborhoods are forced to buy expensive water tankers, an issue dismissed by Mayor Murtaza Wahab.
