A tragic incident occurred in Sri Lanka on Friday when a military helicopter crashed into a reservoir, resulting in the death of six armed forces members.
The Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 went down in the Maduru Oya reservoir, located in the north central part of the country, according to a statement from the Ministry of Defence.
The helicopter was headed for a demonstration at a passing out parade for the Army's Special Forces brigade. Among those killed were two Air Force personnel and four soldiers from the special forces. A nine-member panel has been appointed by the Sri Lanka Air Force to investigate the crash.
