Amit Shah, India's Home Minister, convened an emergency meeting to review security protocols along the border with Pakistan and at the country's airports. This comes amidst heightened military tensions between India and Pakistan, according to sources.
The meeting, attended by top security officials including Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and heads of several security agencies, followed a successful operation by the Border Security Force. The operation thwarted an infiltration attempt from Pakistan, neutralizing seven terrorists and destroying a Pakistan Rangers post.
Security measures were evaluated at India's airports and other vital installations, which are protected by the Central Industrial Security Force. The backdrop of the meeting was increased hostility following recent military actions on both sides of the border.
