Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, made a notable visit to the Russian embassy in Pyongyang alongside his daughter to honor Russia's Victory Day, commemorating the Soviet triumph over Nazi Germany during World War II, according to state media.

The North Korean leader remarked on consolidating and developing the long-standing DPRK-Russia relations, highlighting their ideological and strategic alliance as unshakeable. Thousands of North Korean troops and substantial artillery have reportedly aided Russia in countering Ukrainian advances in the Kursk region, strengthening ties between the two politically isolated nations.

South Korean intelligence has reported that approximately 600 of the 15,000 deployed North Korean troops have been killed in the conflict, with Pyongyang allegedly receiving satellite and missile technologies in return. Despite this, the governments of Moscow and Pyongyang have denied any arms trade, maintaining a narrative of cooperation without exchange.
