Two individuals, suspected of being linked to the banned Jamatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), have been apprehended by the Special Task Force of West Bengal Police in the Birbhum district, according to a senior officer's statement on Friday.

Identified as Ajmol Hossain and Saheb Ali Khan, the suspects were arrested from Nalhati and Murarai areas during the night of May 8 and 9. They are believed to have been promoting JMB's ideology and actively recruiting Muslim youths for terrorist activities.

The police are investigating their involvement in procuring weapons and their connections across the subcontinent. The duo has been remanded to 14 days of police custody to probe deeper into the alleged terror module and its network.
