A mysterious metal object, described as 'bomb-like', was discovered in the village of Kariyal, part of the Gangth Panchayat in Kangra district, on Friday, sparking concerns among residents.
Eyewitnesses, including Pardhan Joginder Singh and former head Ramesh Chand, reported hearing explosions the previous night from the Pathankot area, followed by a burning, rocket-like object descending from the sky and creating a 10-inch crater in the paved road.
Police have taken possession of the enigmatic 8-inch metal piece as the investigation continues, leaving locals and authorities puzzled over its origins.
