Escalation in South Asia: India Strikes Alleged Terror Camps in Pakistan
India carried out targeted strikes on alleged militant camps in Pakistan, leading to significant casualties, including civilians. The attacks were retaliation for the killing of Indian tourists in Kashmir. The conflict marks a substantial escalation between the nuclear-armed neighbors as tensions heighten in the region.

In a sharp escalation of regional tensions, India conducted strikes on alleged militant camps across the border in Pakistan, resulting in significant casualties early Wednesday. The Indian government cited these actions as retaliation for the killing of tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir last month.
Video footage from a seminary near Bahawalpur captured a bright flash as the attack unfolded, leaving 13 dead, including women and children. The seminary, associated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed group, had been partially evacuated amid heightened speculation that it would become a target.
Officials reported that missiles also struck a complex in Muridke, suspected by India to be linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba. Pakistan condemned the strikes, claiming civilian casualties, and vowed retaliation. The international community watches closely as these incidents threaten to further destabilize the already fraught Indo-Pakistani relations.
