Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra has called for a National Investigation Agency (NIA) inquiry into the murder of Hindu activist Suhas Shetty in Mangaluru. He urged Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to press the state government for action.
Vijayendra, along with fellow BJP leaders, met with the Governor at Raj Bhavan to discuss their concerns. The state BJP has been advocating for an NIA investigation since the incident. Vijayendra expressed disappointment in the state government's lack of action, leading the party and Suhas's family to seek gubernatorial intervention.
Suspecting involvement from the banned Popular Front of India, Vijayendra accused the group of orchestrating the murder through financial support. The opposition BJP announced a 'Mangaluru Chalo' campaign to push for the probe. So far, eight arrests have been made in connection to the case.
