A businessman from Surat, Gujarat, has been apprehended for allegedly posting a provocative video on social media concerningthe April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, officials stated on Monday.
Dipen Parmar, 40, was detained by Amroli police officers on Sunday. He allegedly uploaded a video on Facebook, insinuating the "Pahalgam terror attack was premeditated and the leaders of terrorists live in India."
According to police, Parmar's video on the Facebook page 'Jago India' aimed to spread a baseless narrative. An FIR was lodged against him under section 197(1)(D) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for misinformation threatening India's sovereignty, unity, integrity, or security.
