An assistant commissioner of police was relieved from his duties in the Railway unit after allegedly misbehaving with a female constable while intoxicated, according to an official statement on Monday.

The senior police officer explained that they received a complaint from the constable, stating that the male officer was both drunk and inappropriate on duty, a claim confirmed by a subsequent medical examination. The 55-year-old officer was on duty in the Railway unit of the Delhi Police at the time of the incident, which occurred on May 9.

The case has been passed to the POSH committee for further investigation. In response to the incident, the offending officer has been removed from the Railway unit and reassigned to the metro unit, officials added.
