The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has raised serious allegations of liquor smuggling between Goa and Haryana, pointing fingers at local Excise Department authorities for their involvement. Amit Palekar, the president of AAP's Goa unit, disclosed these claims during a press briefing and called for immediate action from Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
Palekar asserted that the illegal operation is causing substantial revenue losses for the state. He pointed out that numerous illegal liquor shipments have been intercepted at the Maharashtra and Karnataka borders, indicating systematic smuggling through Goa, where the Excise Department has installed checkpoints.
The situation sheds light on potential collusion, as inspectors are stationed at distilleries, yet unauthorized liquor production persists. Palekar emphasized the need for a robust investigation to uncover the truth behind these operations and to protect state resources.
