In a significant crackdown on corruption, a Chhattisgarh government clerk was apprehended on Monday for allegedly accepting a Rs 50,000 bribe, according to an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) official. The incident unfolded in Raipur district, marking another stride in the battle against bribery.

The accused, Chavaram Banjare, employed as a clerk at the Commissionerate of Medical Education in Nava Raipur, reportedly demanded the sum in connection with releasing the general provident fund (GPF) and other dues of a retired lab technician.
