The Enforcement Directorate intensified its crackdown on illegal activities by conducting multi-state raids in connection with a money laundering probe. The investigation centers on an alleged scam in the 2023 recruitment of constables in Bihar, officials revealed on Thursday.
Under the sweeping operation, about a dozen locations across Patna and Nalanda in Bihar, Ranchi in Jharkhand, Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, and Kolkata in West Bengal were raided under the guidelines of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Such a robust action underscores the gravity of the alleged scam.
Sources indicated that the masterminds of the Bihar recruitment malfeasance are seemingly the same individuals behind the infamous 2024 NEET UG Paper Leak Scam, further complicating the ongoing investigation.
