Amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel, China has evacuated more than 1,600 of its citizens from Iran and several hundred more from Israel, according to a statement by the Chinese foreign ministry on Thursday.
Guo Jiakun, a spokesperson for the ministry, confirmed that China is actively communicating with countries including Iran, Israel, and Oman in a bid to address the volatile situation. He emphasized the urgency of taking measures to cool down the intensifying conflict.
China's diplomatic efforts in the region highlight its stance on maintaining regional stability and protecting its citizens abroad while calling on all involved parties to de-escalate the tensions immediately.
