Authorities in southwest Delhi have arrested three individuals involved in duping victims through a cryptocurrency scam. The men, identified as Mahender Singh Rajawat, Ariph Khan, and Laxmi Narayan Vaishy, were found to be transferring Rs 15.8 lakh to Chinese handlers under the guise of offering cash for positive online reviews.

The operation came to light after a victim, attracted by online offers promising money for favorable reviews, realized he had been defrauded. Appeals for welfare activities and improved credit scores were some of the false pretexts used to cheat victims, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southwest) Amit Goel.

In a series of raids across Jaipur, Ajmer, and adjoining areas, police apprehended the accused, along with six smartphones containing crucial evidence. The devices unveiled detailed transaction history and communication with foreign handlers, primarily conducted through encrypted messaging services.
