In a major crackdown, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) confiscated narcotics valued at approximately Rs 5 crore from a Nigerian national commuting from Delhi to Mumbai. The seizure involved substantial quantities of methamphetamine and ecstasy.

The operation unfolded after the DRI zeroed in on specific intelligence regarding the smuggling operation. The contraband, concealed ingeniously within food and juice packs, was tracked over a 50 km relay before the arrest was made in the early hours.

Following the arrest of the Nigerian woman, the supposed receiver of the banned substances was also detained. The narcotics were reportedly to be supplied at rave parties, renowned for the use of such stimulants. Investigations under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act are ongoing.
