At least 14 individuals sustained injuries as a result of Russian drone strikes on the Ukrainian Black Sea city of Odesa overnight, local authorities reported on Friday. The attack inflicted damage on high-rise buildings and critically affected railway infrastructure.
Odesa, Ukraine's largest Black Sea port crucial for import-export activities, has been under relentless missile and drone assaults by Russia since the conflict initiated. Governor Oleh Kiper announced via Telegram that, despite active air defense measures, civilian infrastructure, including residential structures, a higher education institution, a gas pipeline, and private vehicles, was severely impacted.
Visuals released by Kiper depicted houses engulfed in flames and high-rises charred. Emergencies services confirmed that ten drone strikes targeted residential areas, inciting extensive fires. Concurrently, Kharkiv, in northeastern Ukraine, also suffered drone attacks, resulting in damage to several homes.
