Engineers Caught in Corruption Scandal in Chhattisgarh

Two engineers from Chhattisgarh's Public Works Department and State Power Distribution Company were arrested for alleged bribery activities. A PWD engineer demanded a Rs 2 lakh bribe, and a power company engineer sought Rs 15,000. Arrests were made during anti-corruption bureau operations.

In a recent crackdown on corruption, an executive engineer from the Public Works Department and a junior engineer from Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited were arrested in different districts for alleged bribery.

The Anti Corruption Bureau identified the accused as Ajay Kumar Temburne from the Jagdalpur circle in Bastar district and Krishna Kumar Gupta, a junior engineer in Lormi, Mungeli. They were caught during separate operations by the bureau.

Temburne allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a contractor to release pending electrification bills, while Gupta sought Rs 15,000 from a person for an illegal residential power connection. Both have been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
