U.S. Intensifies Sanctions to Curb Iran's Defense Efforts
The Trump administration announced new Iran-related sanctions targeting entities and individuals involved in Tehran’s defense industry. These measures aim to disrupt Iran's procurement of technology critical to its weapons programs. Sanctions also targeted Yemen's Houthis over illicit oil trading, underscoring U.S. efforts to curb regional destabilization.

The U.S. government, under the Trump administration, has imposed additional sanctions related to Iran, focusing on eight entities, one vessel, and one individual over their participation in supplying sensitive machinery to Tehran's defense sector.
According to U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, these sanctions are part of a broader initiative to hamper Iran's acquisition of dual-use technologies that bolster its ballistic missile and drone capabilities, which pose a threat to regional and global security.
Additionally, the Treasury Department revealed separate sanctions targeting Yemen's Iran-supported Houthis, aimed at stopping illicit oil trading and shipping activities. These actions underline the U.S.'s commitment to halting entities involved in destabilizing activities across the region.
