A devastating explosion shattered the calm in Nigeria's northeast state of Borno, leaving at least 10 dead and several injured. The blast rocked a restaurant late Friday in the Konduga area, according to local police sources.
While no group has claimed responsibility for this latest attack, the region has been plagued by continuous violence attributed to the notorious Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province. These groups have been active in the area, carrying out deadly attacks since 2009.
The ongoing conflict, which has claimed the lives of approximately 35,000 people and displaced over 2 million, shows no signs of abating despite repeated vows from President Bola Tinubu's administration to improve security in the affected regions.
