In a significant operation, the Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police dismantled an illegal arms manufacturing unit and arrested two individuals accused of operating the facility from neighbouring Jharkhand, a senior officer reported on Saturday.

The action coordinated by Kolkata Police's STF, alongside Jharkhand's Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Gandhinagar outpost, involved a targeted raid on a location where a wedding was underway, unveiling a clandestine firearms production setup.

Conducted at the residence of Suraj Shaw and a nearby marriage hall in Jaridih Uppar Bazar, Bokaro, the investigation exposed an active improvised arms factory in a warehouse opposite the venue. The seizure included semi-finished arms, essential machinery, raw materials, and currency totaling Rs one lakh.
