Ajay, a key suspect in the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment exam paper leak case dating back to 2024, has finally been arrested, reports the local police.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Aditya Bansal confirmed that Ajay, who hails from Shamli district, was apprehended in Muzaffarnagar on Saturday. The suspect has been on the run since the Special Task Force charged him under various legal provisions, including those for forgery and conspiracy.
The paper leak scandal prompted the government to cancel the exam scheduled on February 17 and 18, 2024. With over 48 lakh candidates affected, the state announced a re-examination and launched an STF investigation to uncover the conspiracy's extent.
