London's Metropolitan Police have charged seven Iranian nationals with grievous bodily harm following a chaotic altercation during a protest near the Iranian embassy. The police were called to the scene on Friday after reports of violence emerged.

Eight individuals were detained in total, among them, one man who sustained serious, though not life-threatening, injuries and was hospitalized alongside another individual. Of those detained, seven face charges of grievous bodily harm.

The accused have been remanded in custody in anticipation of their court appearance on Monday. Meanwhile, the eighth person remains in the hospital but has been bailed.
