An online job scam duping unwary job seekers was dismantled by the Delhi Police with the arrest of a suspect, Rahul, on Tuesday. The scam involved a fake recruitment agency that extracted money from hopeful applicants.

Investigation was spurred by a complaint from a 19-year-old victim who lost over Rs 9,000 after engaging with a fraudulent mobile application named JOB HAI. He was lured into the scam via a social media advert and promised a job at a grocery delivery firm.

Further investigation revealed that the fraud was orchestrated by Rahul and his wife, Seema, running a fake agency named Treasure Find Solution. Accused of targeting job seekers since 2011, the couple operated under various aliases, extracting money through fabricated fees and document requests.
