Family Revenge Ignites Arson After Contractor's Murder

In Shiggaon, following the murder of local contractor Shivanand Kunnur, a shocking act of arson has taken place, as his family allegedly set fire to the house of the primary suspect, Nagaraj Savadatti, according to police reports on Wednesday.

Shivanand Kunnur, a first-class contractor aged 40, endured a brutal assault during daylight hours on Tuesday. He was viciously attacked with iron rods, machetes, and swords while returning home post-lunch. A video capturing the attack, filmed by an onlooker, has since gone viral, sparking outrage and disbelief.

Authorities have launched a dual investigation both into the murder, which has several named suspects, including Hanumanth, Ashraf, Sudeep, and Suresh, and the arson incident. The fire, though severely damaging the structure, resulted in no injuries as the premises were vacant at the time.
