In a significant breakthrough, the Delhi Police crime branch apprehended a 22-year-old sharpshooter from the notorious Gogi gang on Wednesday morning. Identified as Chirag alias Kala from Narela, he was arrested in connection with a dramatic firing in Rohini earlier this month, according to police officials.

Chirag was found with two pistols and two bullets at the time of arrest, and another weapon used in the crime was recovered later. The crackdown came after a shooting incident on June 9, when four motorcycle-borne assailants opened fire on vehicles outside a businessman's house in Rohini Sector 16, sowing panic among residents. An FIR was lodged at KNK Marg police station following the incident, which left two vehicles damaged.

Despite initial dead ends in exploring personal and local rivalries, police managed to receive a tip-off pinpointing Chirag's location at Nalah Road, leading to his arrest. During interrogation, Chirag admitted to following orders from his jailed cousin, Akshay alias Taxi, linked with the Gogi gang, to intimidate criminals and businessmen. His criminal path reportedly began under Akshay's influence, initially targeting local criminals.
