The Ministry of Jal Shakti unveiled a draft proposal aiming to overhaul recruitment and promotion procedures for Group A scientists within the Central Ground Water Board. This move signifies a push towards structured promotions, mandatory field experience, and performance-based assessments.
Under the updated rules, promotions hinge on completing specified residency periods and acquiring requisite field exposure. An innovative two-tier assessment system will further vet candidates for elevation. In addition, rigorous training programs are compulsory for new recruits and internally promoted officers.
The draft also delineates the total number of scientific posts across various disciplines and insists that forthcoming vacancies due to retirements or other departures be filled strategically. A public consultation is open, inviting stakeholder feedback by July 13 as the government seeks inclusive dialogue on these significant regulatory changes.
