In a firm response to recent remarks from the senior RSS leader, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has pledged to defend the integrity of the Indian Constitution. During an interaction with reporters in Bengaluru, Kharge criticized RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale's call to reconsider the incorporation of 'socialist' and 'secular' into the Preamble.
Kharge accused the RSS of being against democratic ideals and suggested that the organization should concentrate on fighting untouchability, a lingering societal issue. He argued that the RSS continues to support outdated hierarchical norms, hindering progress for marginalized communities.
He further appealed for unity and urged the RSS to abstain from inciting confusion through contradictory rhetoric. Asserting his party's commitment to standing firm, Kharge vowed to oppose any attempt to amend the fundamental precepts of the nation's governance.
