Sikkim Government Enforces Swift Employee Transfers

The Sikkim government's Department of Personnel has issued a new directive aimed at ensuring that employee transfers are executed promptly and efficiently.

The circular emphasizes that departmental heads are tasked with the responsibility of immediately releasing employees upon transfer and ensuring they report to their new postings without delay. Employees transferred within the same location are expected to join their new positions instantly, whereas those moving across different stations have six days to do so, excluding Sundays and public holidays.

The directive comes after observations indicated that some employees remain at their former posts despite being transferred, while some departmental heads have attempted to retain these employees. The government warns that failure to adhere to the transfer orders will lead to disciplinary actions against heads of departments and employees who do not comply.
