Security at Agra airport has been tightened following a threatening email, law enforcement officials revealed on Monday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Sonam Kumar disclosed that an email prompted airport security to file a complaint on Sunday, resulting in the registration of a case at Shahganj police station. Despite the lack of specific threat details, this development has led to increased security measures.
Kumar noted that similar threatening emails had been received at other sites, and collaborative efforts with officials at these locations are ongoing. Despite an exhaustive search of the airport premises turning up no suspicious activities, police are actively tracing the email's origin and assessing its seriousness. Charges have been brought under Section 351(4) of the BNS for criminal intimidation and Section 66F of the IT Act.
