Massive Fraud Uncovered in Delhi's Infrastructure Projects
The Delhi government's anti-corruption branch has arrested a suspended executive engineer and a contractor in a Rs 4.6 crore fraud involving fake projects. The scam surfaced after a complaint from the vigilance branch revealed fraudulent payments for non-existent civil works in Siraspur and Burari.

A massive fraud scandal involving over Rs 4.6 crore has rocked Delhi's Irrigation and Flood Control Department, resulting in the arrest of a suspended executive engineer and a private contractor by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB).
Gagan Kureel, the then Executive Engineer, and Arun Gupta, owner of Baba Construction Company, are accused of orchestrating fraudulent payments for civil works that never occurred, according to an official statement on Monday.
The exposure followed a complaint to the department's vigilance branch, revealing fictitious drainage and road projects purportedly completed in Siraspur village, north Delhi. Further investigations uncovered sophisticated fraud tactics, including forged bank guarantees and manipulated measurement books.
