In a new video that quickly gained traction online, four employees of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) are seen pleading for help during their ongoing captivity under the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
The footage allegedly features the traumatized hostages calling on the Pakistani government to address the demands posed by their captors.
Hafiz Bashir Ahmed, one of the abducted individuals, implored authorities to act swiftly to secure their release. The kidnapping originally included 17 PAEC employees, who were taken on January 9 en route to the Qabul Khel Atomic Energy mining project.
Since the incident, steps have been taken to rescue hostages, with eight safe returns and several others released or rescued by either the authorities or abductors. However, four employees remain unaccounted for and are believed to be in TTP custody, increasing the urgency for diplomatic negotiations.
