External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, during his recent visit to the United States, described the Pahalgam terror attack as an act of economic warfare designed to destabilize Kashmir's vital tourism sector. Speaking at Newsweek's headquarters, he highlighted India's firm stance against terrorism originating from Pakistan, refusing to succumb to nuclear threats.

In the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives and involved Pakistan-based groups, Jaishankar declared that India would not allow terrorists to operate with impunity. He pointed out that terrorist organizations have visible bases in Pakistan, which were targeted in India's Operation Sindoor, carried out in retaliation.

At a UN exhibition titled 'The Human Cost of Terrorism', Jaishankar reiterated India's long-standing battles against terror from Pakistan, dating back to the country's independence. He emphasized the global threat posed by terrorism and the need for zero tolerance, urging countries not to support or justify terrorist activities.
