Security at Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna has been significantly increased following a bomb threat received via email, police revealed on Tuesday. The threat was later confirmed to be a hoax, but not before triggering a high-level meeting and enhanced security procedures.
City SP Central, Patna, Diksha, told PTI that the airport authorities acted swiftly upon receiving the threat, implementing additional security measures to ensure the safety of passengers and staff. Despite being a false alarm, the incident highlighted the need for constant vigilance.
A case has been registered, and police are currently working to identify the sender by tracing the email's IP address. The Economic Offences Unit's cyber cell is conducting a parallel investigation to uncover more details about the source of the threat.
