Muzaffarnagar Court Sentences Five to Life in Murder Case

A Muzaffarnagar court on Tuesday sentenced five individuals, including a man and his two sons, to life imprisonment in connection with a murder case, as reported by a government lawyer.

On June 30, Additional District and Sessions Judge Rekha Singh imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on each of those convicted: Vijaypal, his sons Ajit and Govinda, along with two others, Saurabh and Ankur. The five were found guilty under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rioting, murder, and criminal conspiracy.

The village head of Ahroda village, Mageram, was fatally shot and his body was set ablaze, a crime attributed to longstanding enmity, according to government lawyer Kamal Kumar. The incident took place on July 15, 2015, in Muzaffarnagar district, leading to a complaint by the victim's son.
