Cybercrime Ruse Unravels: Two Youths Arrested for Scamming Retiree
Two young men, Banshi Lal and Prem Kumar, were arrested in north Delhi for scamming a retired government worker of Rs 14 lakh by posing as cybercrime officials. They frightened the victim with fake threats, persuading him to transfer money. The police tracked the suspects to Rajasthan and arrested them.

In a significant breakthrough, two youths have been arrested in north Delhi for deceiving a retired government employee out of Rs 14 lakh. The accused allegedly impersonated cybercrime officials, threatening the victim with a fabricated digital arrest.
The suspects, identified as Banshi Lal and Prem Kumar, both aged 20, were apprehended following an intense investigation into the scam. The victim, Kailash Kumar Meena, received a video call from a supposed cybercrime officer who falsely accused him of involvement in online fraud.
Police tracked the duo to Barmer, Rajasthan, and detained them. Banshi Lal admitted to handing over his bank details for a fee, which Prem Kumar then gave to the scam's main orchestrator, Satpal Bishnoi. Two mobile phones linked to the crime have been seized.
